On Oct. 7, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy was notified of a violation of a protective order. The deputy spoke with the victim, who stated Monroe had called into a business requesting to speak with them.
According to court documents, the deputy then spoke with a coworker, who stated that they were notified by the receptionist that Monroe was on the phone. The coworker spoke to Monroe in her office, and he requested to speak with the victim regarding his vehicle. The coworker stated the victim refused to speak with Monroe.
The deputy contacted Monroe via phone, and asked Monroe if he called into the victim’s work. Monroe stated that he did and wanted to get his truck that was at the victim’s residence. He thought the protection order was settled but did not confirm this prior to reaching out to the victim.
An order of protection between Monroe and the victim was issued in April 2024, and a hearing was held in December 2024 to extend the order. Monroe was present at the hearing and was personally served with the extended order, which was set to expire on Dec. 12, 2026.
