Brentlinger and Cook promoted at 1st Source Bank

SOUTH BEND – 1st Source Bank announces the promotions of Jake Brentlinger and Matt Cook. Brentlinger was promoted to officer of the bank. Cook was promoted to senior vice president and head of human resources.
Brentlinger has been with 1st Source since 2014 and is a dedicated senior lender in the Bank’s Central Region, now with an added bank officer designation. He holds an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Southwestern Michigan College.
In the community, Brentlinger served as treasurer of the River Park Business Association for five years, and he currently sits on the board for the Michiana Adult Baseball League.
Cook joined 1st Source Bank in 2016 as an HR manager and after several promotions he was recently promoted again to head of human resources with a bank officer designation of senior vice president. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Purdue University, a Master of Science in human resources from Loyola University Chicago and graduated from the Wharton/Stonier Graduate School of Banking in 2024. He also holds a People Analytics Certification and a Professional in Human Resources Certification.
In the community, Cook has served on the LaPorte County Family YMCA board of directors from 2019 until March of this year. He will soon join the board of The Caring Place in Valparaiso. In addition, he has previously been involved with Sandpiper Cooperative Preschool, Honor Flight-Northeast Indiana, United Way in Porter and St. Joseph Counties, Meals on Wheels, LaPorte High School and Junior Achievement.
