Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, Fisher Avenue, at West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Cale Nutt, 36, West SR 14, Silver Lake; and Ryan Swing, 44, Buck Trail, Warsaw. Nutt had his right turn signal on to turn right. Swing chose to drive around him despite it being a no-passing zone. Nutt then realized that he actually needed to turn left and changed his signal and began to turn left. Nutt’s vehicle then sideswiped Swing’s vehicle. Damages estimated up to $5,000.
- 3:28 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, West CR 900N, west of North SR 15, Milford. Driver: Dallas W. Mast, 39, Brookelynn Court, Nappanee. Mast’s vehicle hit a patch of ice, went off the road, and hit a utility pole. Damages estimated up to $25,000.
- 10:41 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, South SR 15, south of West CR 600S, Claypool. Driver: Jorge Sanchez, 42, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Sanchez’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated up to $5,000.
- 9:04 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, North CR 225E, south of East CR 75N, Warsaw. Driver: Allen S. Harderbeck, 24, North CR 1125E, Otterbein. Harderbeck’s vehicle hit a patch of ice, went off the road, and hit a tree. Damages estimated up to $10,000.
- 8:19 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, North SR 19, north of West SR 10, Etna Green. Driver: Makayla A. Sandbakken, 26, South SR 19, Akron. Sandbakken’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated up to $10,000.
- 7:33 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, SR 19, south of West CR 1000N, Nappanee. Driver: Joshua D. Kirby, 41, South CR 200E, Rochester. Kirby’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated up to $10,000.
- 11:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, North CR 300E, south of East LaPoint Drive, Milford. Driver: Christopher S. Hartleroad, 32, EMS D18 Lane, Syracuse. Hartleroad’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated up to $10,000.
- 11:18 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, North CR 300E, south of East CR 1100N, Syracuse. Driver: Miguel Aguilar, 23, East Dellview Drive, Warsaw. Aguilar’s vehicle lost traction and went off the road. Aguilar’s vehicle then hit a stump and flipped, causing disabling damage. Damages estimated up to $10,000.
- 9:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, North CR 700W, at West CR 600N, Warsaw. Driver: Marisol Gonzalez-Ramirez, 19, North 950W, Etna Green. Gonzalez-Ramirez hit a deer. Damages estimated up to $2,500.
- 4:54 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 5500 block East Washington Road, Pierceton. Driver: Samuel J. Hagen, 24, East North Street, North Webster. Hagen’s vehicle hit a patch of ice, causing the vehicle to slide into a ditch and hit a fence. Damages estimated up to $5,000.
- 1:27 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, East CR 700 North, west of North CR 300E, Leesburg. Driver: Alexander Garcia-Reyna, 19, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Garcia-Reyna’s vehicle slid off the road and struck a utility pole. The vehicle was towed by Glen’s Towing. Damages estimated up to $25,000.
- 12:31 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, East CR 500N, at EMS T8 Lane, Leesburg. Drivers: Tony Griffith, 55, River Road, Yemassee, S.C.; Stephen Whitenack, 76, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Griffith lost control of his vehicle, causing the trailer he was pulling to jack-knife and hit the front end of Whitenack’s vehicle. Whitenack complained of chest pain but said that he would seek medical attention later on. Damages estimated up to $25,000.
- 9:47 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, South CR 1000W, at West CR 1000S, Akron. Driver: Aron D. Leininger, 47, West CR 1000S, Akron. As Leininger’s vehicle turned at the intersection, the trailer he was towing slid, causing it to jackknife and strike the cab of Vehicle 1. Damages estimated up to $25,000.
- 7:13 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, US 30, east of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Adam Gilbert, 49, Springboro Lane, Columbus, Ohio. Gilbert’s semi left the roadway. Gilbert was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for a possible head injury. Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
- 6:33 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, East CR 300S, at South Packerton Road, Warsaw. Driver: Blayne D. Amich, 30, South Mulberry Street, Servia. Amich’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a pole due to snowy and icy conditions. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 6:07 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, North CR 950W, north of West Welch Road, Etna Green. Driver: Britnee S. Sheetz, 38, North CR 875W, Etna Green. Sheetz’s vehicle slid off the roadway due to icy conditions, entering a field and hitting a utility pole. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 8:11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, East CR 500N, east of North CR 700E, Leesburg. Drivers: Aubrey P. Wood, 26, EMS B33A1 Lane, Warsaw; and Danielle S. Kelly, 22, West Lincolnway, Columbia City. Wood was attempting to turn right onto CR 500N when she hit Kelly’s vehicle from behind. This caused Wood’s vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over. Wood sustained minor injuries to her knee, lower leg, and foot area. Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
- 8:06 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, SR 14, at South CR 850W, Akron. Driver: Jennifer A. Manns, 53, East Walnut Street, Akron. Manns’ vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 4:54 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, South CR 700E, north of East CR 650N, Sidney. Driver: Kelli L. Powell, 40, South CR 700E, Pierceton. Powell’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 4:01 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, West CR 300N, at North CR 150W, Warsaw. Drivers: Bailey Goon, 16, West CR 500N; and Stacy Harms, 27, P.O. Box 65, Triumph, Ill. Goon’s vehicle entered the left turn lane, hitting the mirror on Harms’ vehicle. Damages are estimated under $1,000.
- 7:08 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, SR 15, at West CR 350S, Warsaw. Driver: Anne Rego, 28, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Rego’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 6:07 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, US 30, at North CR 800W, Warsaw. Drivers: Carl Rhodes, 69, CR 35, Middlebury; and Austin Evans, 27, CR 29, New Paris. Rhodes was traveling north on North CR 800W and was attempting to cross US 30 when he failed to yield to Evans’ vehicle. Evans was traveling west on US 30. The collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway. Rhodes complained of leg pain and Evans complained of head pain. Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
- 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, South CR 500E, Warsaw. Driver: Jonathan C. Craft, 24, East CR 500S, Warsaw. Craft swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting a deer, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and enter a ditch. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 9:11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, SR 15, at West CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Driver: Jacob E. Shepherd, 33, Meadowdale Drive, North Manchester. Shepherd’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
- 6:02 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, West CR 500N, at North CR 300W, Warsaw. Driver: Anita L. Jones, 61, West Doe Court, Warsaw. Jones’ vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 11:26 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, North CR 800W, at West CR 640N, Etna Green. Driver: Tori S. Fehr, 61, West Dawn Drive, Silver Lake. Fehr’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 8:42 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, North CR 500E, north of East CR 650N, Syracuse. Driver: Ryen S. Ogan, 17, EMS B2 Lane, Leesburg. Ogan’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, North CR 400E, at East CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Peggy Baker, 54, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. A deer ran into the passenger’s side of Baker’s vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 11:36 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, North CR 100E, at East CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Dean G. Boden, 68, Gussie Court, Warsaw; and Mark W. Minear, 68, East Washington Street, Pierceton. Boden was traveling west on east CR 300N when he entered the North CR 100E intersection, failing to yield to Minear’s vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 11:11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 9166 N. 200E, Milford. Driver: Elphadia Jean Philippe, 33, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Jean Philippe was attempting to park her vehicle when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $2,500.
- 11:03 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 9166 N. 200E, Milford. Driver: Elphadia Jean Philippe, 33, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Jean Philippe was attempting to park her vehicle when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $2,500.
