MILFORD — Milford Redevelopment Commission reviewed its spending plan for 2026 at its Monday, Nov. 10 meeting.
The commission’s 2026 budget is $255,450.
According to financial advisor Jim Higgins, tax increment finance fund collections for 2026 are predicted to total $24,000. As per Milford’s contract with Miller Brothers, the firm building the Eastfield subdivision, half of the town’s T.I.F. collections will be paid to Miller Brother as reimbursement for construction. Payment is planned to total $12,000 for 2026.
When it came to the commission’s total expenditures, however, President Dan Brown called one of the line items into question. It was agreed Higgins would review the expenditures and return them to Clerk-Treasurer Tricia Gall before the Dec. 1 deadline. The new total will be reviewed and the spending plan ratified at the commission’s December meeting.
In other business, the commission is still searching for a replacement for Chuck Bird, the recently resigned vice president. The candidate it chooses will need to be approved by the town council.
Brown also noted Miller Brothers has begun roadwork for phase two of Eastfield construction.
“I think that’s a positive sign,” he said.
The next Milford Redevelopment Commission meeting will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8.
