Town Of Claypool To Hold Groundbreaking For Wastewater, Stormwater Improvements Project
News Release
CLAYPOOL – The Town of Claypool invites the public to attend a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction on the wastewater and stormwater improvements project.
The ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the wastewater treatment plant, 200 W. Walnut St.
This transformative project includes updating the wastewater treatment plant, new SAGR biological system, UV disinfection, rehabilitation and cleaning of the sewer collection system, and stormwater collection system in the community. The project will replace the aging infrastructure that is now at the end of its useful life and allow the district to reliably and safely meet its permit effluent limits and serve the community.
The $4.612 million project is funded in part through the Indiana Finance Authority’s State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Program, including $1.6 million in forgivable loan dollars and a grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) for $750,000 as well as $200,000 from the Kosciusko County K21 Health Foundation.
Town officials and special dignitaries will be on hand for brief remarks and the ceremonial groundbreaking.
