Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

6:17 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, South SR 15 and West CR 100S, Warsaw. Driver: Louis A. Schwaller, 53, Van Buren Street, Monroe. Schwaller’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated at $5,000.

8:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, West SR 14, at South CR 500W, Silver Lake. Driver: Blake W. Tipton, 27, CR 1400N, Silver Lake. Tipton’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated at $10,000.

7:13 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, East Bowser Road and North CR 375W, Syracuse. Driver: Sarah Lauck, 45, CR 450E, Leesburg. Lauck’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated under $1,000.

6:01 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, SR 14 and South CR 700W, Silver Lake. Driver: David T. Rayner, 52, CR 950W, South Whitley. Rayner was traveling in a dump truck, east on SR 14, and left the roadway. Rayner tried to correct it and re-entered the roadway but tipped the truck. Damages estimated at $25,000.

3:47 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, North CR 500E and East CR 650N, Syracuse. Driver: Robert McKinney, 26, EMS D18 Lane, Syracuse. McKinney’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated at $5,000.

8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, SR 25 and West CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Heath Jones, 47, Harvard Street, Mentone. Jones’ vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated at $5,000.

4:53 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, North CR 300W and West CR 700N, Leesburg. Driver: Alexander D. Moreno, 20, Filbert Way, Elkhart. Moreno was traveling north, fish-tailed, and over-corrected. Moreno’s vehicle entered the grassy portion of the field and rolled, resting on the top. Damages estimated at $10,000.

3:23 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, West CR 600S and South CR 800W, Burket. Driver: Baris Akman, 42, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Akman was driving a Stafford’s truck when it left the south side of the roadway, re-entering the roadway, then exiting again on the north side. Akman overcorrected and lost control, causing the truck to flip on the driver’s side. Akman was transported to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital for neck and back pain. Damages estimated at $50,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 3:14 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, CR 146 and SR 15, New Paris. Drivers: Thomas Howard, 30, Warsaw; and David Lewis, 60, Elkhart. Howard was turning off CR 146 onto SR 15 and failed to yield to Lewis’ vehicle, causing Lewis’ vehicle to hit Howard’s vehicle. Both drivers complained of pain.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:31 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, North SR 25 and North CR 500E, Rochester. Driver: Jamie Miller, 43, Rochester. Miller’s vehicle hit a deer.
- 8:24 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, North Old US 31 and East CR 450N, Rochester. Driver: Angelina Anderson, 63, Rochester. Anderson’s vehicle hit a deer.
- 7:36 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, South CR 800W, and West CR 900S, Kewanna. Driver: Braydon Duff, 20, Kewanna. Duff’s vehicle hit a deer.
- 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, East SR 114, and East CR 300S, Akron. Driver: James Wagler, 22, Woodburn. Woodburn’s vehicle hit a deer.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 8:41 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, US 30, at Queen Road, Plymouth. Drivers: Nicolae Pavel, 61; and Richard Louzon, 77. Pavel was traveling west on US 30, approaching the Queen Road intersection, when Pavel failed to stop for a red light. Pavel’s vehicle hit Louzon’s vehicle, which was traveling south. Louzon was flown from the scene to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, where he died from his injuries. A passenger in Louzon’s vehicle, Katelynn Pekofske, 20, Walkerton, was injured and flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
