NORTH MANCHESTER – The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced a bridge replacement project on SR 114 in North Manchester.
Starting on or after Monday, Nov. 3, crews will be replacing the bridge over Eel River between Sycamore Street and Merkle Street. The project is to be completed in multiple phases with the first phase anticipated to be complete by the beginning of July 2026. Phases two and three are anticipated to begin at the completion of phase one and last until July 2027.
Phase one will include the closure and reconstruction of the westbound side of the bridge. During construction, a temporary traffic signal will be put into place as eastbound and westbound traffic will take turns using the eastbound side of the bridge. The eastbound side of the bridge will have a 10-foot width limit. For non-local and wide-load traffic, an official detour has been put into place. The detour includes SR 105, SR 16 and SR 13, or traffic can seek an alternative route.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
