One Dead After Two-Vehicle Accident West Of Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – A man is dead following a two-vehicle accident west of Plymouth on Tuesday morning.
At 8:41 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident on US 30, at the Queen Road intersection.
According to a statement from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Nicolae Pavel, 61, was driving a semitractor-trailor west on US 30, approaching the Queen Road intersection, when Pavel failed to stop for a red light. Pavel’s semitractor-trailor hit a Chevrolet pickup driven by Richard Louzon, 77. Louzon’s vehicle was traveling south.
Louzon and a passenger in his vehicle, Katelynn Pekofske, 20, Walkerton, were both flown from the scene to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Louzon was later pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
