A press release described the design as a tribute to Clark’s influence on women’s sports and the state’s reputation for producing basketball talent. Indiana has long celebrated figures such as Larry Bird, Reggie Miller and Tyrese Halliburton.
Shrewsbury’s appearance has circulated widely on social media, helping generate interest ahead of the Miss USA Finals scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24. The event will stream live on The Queen Beauty Network.
Organizers hope the design’s connection to the state’s longstanding sports identity will resonate with fans as the pageant approaches.
