Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 9:23 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, South CR 200W, south of West CR 900S, Claypool. Driver: Benjamin Bergman, 30, South CR 200W, Claypool. A deer hit the right side of Bergman’s vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, South CR 700E, north of East CR 1000S, South Whitley. Driver: Matthew T. Hathaway, 28, South CR 700E, North Manchester. Hathaway’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 7:34 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, South County Farm Road, north of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Driver: Mary Beth Harrell, 61, North CR 100E, Wabash. Harrell’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, South Jefferson Street, at West Main Street, Silver Lake. Drivers: Mary M. Hatfield, 75, Oakwood Drive, Warsaw; and John C. Lindsay, 37, Buchtel Road, Ligonier. Hatfield was backing her vehicle to give a semi room to turn right when she backed into Lindsay’s vehicle. Damages are estimated under $1,000.
- 7:54 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, North CR 650E, at East CR 150N, Pierceton. Driver: Kristina L. Middleton, 41, West CR 100S, Andrews. Middleton’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, East Old Road 30, at South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Collin Smith, 26, West Old Trail Road, Larwill. Smith’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, SR 15 and Tarman Road, New Paris. Drivers: Darren Griffith, 44, New Paris; and Billy Arousell, 46, Goshen. Arousell had stopped his vehicle at the intersection in a left turn lane. Griffith’s vehicle drifted into the left turn lane, causing a collision. Griffith suffered minor bleeding to the head and was taken to Elkhart Hospital.
