Wabash Man Arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine

SILVER LAKE – A Wabash man was arrested on drug charges.

Keith Allen Cone, 51, 576 N. East St., Wabash, is charged with driving while suspended, a class A misdemeanor; possession of methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement, both level 6 felonies; and possession of methamphetamine with a prior dealing conviction, a level 5 felony.
On Sept. 21, officers were patrolling in Silver Lake and observed a vehicle being driven by Cone, who had an outstanding felony warrant. Officers proceeded to follow Cone, who accelerated rapidly. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens, and the vehicle started to push up to 90 mph. The vehicle stopped at an intersection, with a passenger leaving the vehicle, and Cone leaving the driver’s seat, fleeing on foot. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a white residue that later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Cone was previously convicted of dealing methamphetamine in Miami County in 2009. He was convicted of driving while suspended for Kosciusko County in 2020.
Cone has been booked into the Kosciusko County Jail but also has a warrant in Wabash County for dealing methamphetamine.
