Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:46 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, SR 25, at South Ferguson Road, Warsaw. Driver: Ronald Hurley, 59, South SR 25, Mentone. Hurley’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 6:03 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, US 30, at Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Logan Drayer, 19, Linda Lane, Columbia City; and Jean Mombia, 37, Rattington Circle, Warsaw. Drayer was driving on US 30 and didn’t know what color the light was when he went through the intersection. Mombia was in the left turn lane on US 30, and proceeded to turn on the green light, which is when Drayer’s vehicle struck Mombia’s. Three passengers were in Mombia’s vehicle. Nancy Joseph, 36, Warsaw, had shoulder pain; Woodnaily Mombia Dhaity, 3, Warsaw, had head pain; and Dhaity Yline, 28, Warsaw, had a head abrasion. All three passengers were transported to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. Damages estimated at $25,000.
- 12:43 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 540 E. Market St., Warsaw. Driver: William Bentley, 73, Smith Street, Warsaw. Bentley and an unoccupied vehicle were parked on Market Street, and when Bentley was leaving the parking spot, his vehicle hit the unoccupied vehicle. Damages estimated at $5,000.
- 2:39 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, SR 15 and Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Claira Tom, 21, CR 800N, Syracuse; Lexis Craft, 23, South Lake Street, Warsaw; Kameron Hanthorn, 17, CR 250S, Warsaw; and Randall Cook, 85, Groff Avenue, North Manchester. Tom was driving when she became distracted by something outside the window, causing her vehicle to rear-end Craft’s vehicle. Craft’s vehicle hit Hanthorn’s vehicle, which hit Cook’s vehicle. Damages estimated at $10,000.
- 11:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, West CR 250S and South Ferguson Road, Warsaw. Driver: Jacob Anderson, 33, Main Street, Warsaw. Anderson’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages estimated at $25,000.
- 6:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, SR 25, at West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Carlos Moron Fernandez, 49, CR 250S, Warsaw; Cameron Sellers, 25, Verna Street, Claypool; and Miranda Babbit, 41, CR 1000W, Claypool. Fernandez was driving on SR 25, when Sellers’ vehicle started slowing down. Babbit’s vehicle, which was at the front of the other two vehicles, had slowed down due to vehicles on the side of the road. Fernandez’s vehicle rear-ended Sellers’s vehicle, which rear-ended Babbit’s vehicle. Damages estimated at $25,000.
- 4:58 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, US 30, at East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: Trenton Lowman, 19, Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Carlos Cortez, 42, First Street, Pierceton. Lowman’s vehicle rear-ended Cortez’s vehicle. Damages estimated at $5,000.
- 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, West CR 300N, at Shelden Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Tammy Grant, 64, CR 650W, Etna Green; and Antonio Castorena, 37, Dunbar Street, Willow Springs, Ill. Grant was at the roundabout, waiting for traffic to pass, and entered the roundabout to travel south. As Grant’s vehicle entered the roundabout, her vehicle struck Castorena’s vehicle. Damages estimated at $10,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 8:32 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, CR 46, Goshen, north of Syracuse. Driver: Thomas Skaggs, 82, Warsaw. Scaggs’ vehicle went left of center at a curve and went off the roadway into the driveway at 10259 CR 46 instead of following the curve. His vehicle collided with the back of a parked vehicle. That vehicle was then pushed into another parked vehicle. Skaggs suffered a laceration to the arm and was taken to Goshen Hospital.
