Christopher Taylor Tackett
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for allegedly battering a woman.
Christopher Taylor Tackett, 28, 116 N. 300E, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery and criminal mischief, both class A misdemeanors.
On Sept. 30, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a residence in Warsaw after receiving a report of Tackett destroying items inside the home. Other assisting deputies located Tackett in a nearby vehicle.
According to court documents, upon arrival at the residence, deputies noticed a vehicle in a opened garage that appeared to be damaged. Multiple trash cans were also knocked over, and beverages and glass were scattered throughout the garage. The state of disarray continued through the home’s bathroom and living area.
A pickup truck at the home also had damage, including damage to its windshield and all four tires.
A woman at the scene said she and Tackett had a verbal argument, which led to Tackett trashing the home, hitting the woman and dumping items on her. The woman said Tackett sliced the pickup truck’s tires with a knife.
She also told police a cabinet holding many glass items was tipped over on top of her while she was on the phone with 911. The woman sustained injuries during the incident, including a swollen knuckle on her left hand, cuts on her right hand, and swelling around her right eye. She alleged that Tackett hit her with his elbow, and that she was additionally hit in the mouth.
Tackett told police he had an anger problem.
Tackett has already been arrested and released on bond. He has an initial hearing at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
