Light Parade Returns To Downtown Goshen Nov. 7
News Release
GOSHEN — The glow of the holiday season will shine as the Goshen Light Parade returns to downtown Goshen for the November First Fridays event, which will take place from 5-9 p.m. Nov. 7.
Organized by Downtown Goshen Inc., the Light Parade brings together the Elkhart County community to celebrate the holiday season.
Comfort foods, soups and warm drinks, and other hearty, cold-night options, will be featured at downtown eateries, and member merchants will spotlight holiday items for shoppers. Starting at 7:30 p.m., various Elkhart County businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, clubs, entertainers and civic groups power up an array of lighted floats and presentations to create a procession along Main Street.
“The Light Parade has grown into one of our most anticipated events, and so many local organizations and residents are excited to be a part of this,” said Amanda Rose, director of First Fridays. “It may be on the chilly side that night, but that won’t stop Goshen when it comes to this event. People can expect to enjoy some of the best that the community has to offer in terms of shopping and dining, and have fun and make lasting memories with friends and family of all ages.”
In addition to downtown Goshen’s assortment of eateries and dining establishments, food trucks will make a return appearance at the Light Parade.
Participating businesses will be presenting holiday-themed storefront light displays and offering specials, in-store events and activities for the young and young at heart.
Area businesses, nonprofit organizations, clubs, schools and groups that are interested in registering for the Light Parade are asked to submit entries by Wednesday, Oct. 22. To review the Light Parade rules and register for the event, applicants can visit the Light Parade registration page.
Anyone over the age of 18 can apply to become a volunteer at https://downtowngoshen.org/volunteer.
