Staff Report
WARSAW — A Michigan woman was arrested on multiple drug charges.

Leisa Ann Bowling
Leisa Ann Bowling, 58, Traverse City, Mich., is charged with possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, a level 6 felony; and possession of methamphetamine between 10-28 grams, a level 4 felony.
On Sept. 9, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department was patrolling on Lake Street near Hepler Drive in Warsaw when they observed a truck pulling into a business. The driver, who was later identified as Bowling, appeared to “freak out” when spotting the officer. After running the vehicle’s registration, officers discovered Bowling’s driving status of habitual traffic violator, which Bowling was aware of.
After a search of the vehicle, officers obtained a glass smoking device; a plastic bag with plant material that allegedly was marijuana; a small plastic bag with a substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine; and a small plastic bag that contained methamphetamine, weighing approximately 16.2 grams.
Bowling’s Indiana driving privileges were suspended with a 10-year administrative suspension, which began on Oct. 18, 2023. She also has prior felony convictions from 2010, 2019, and 2022.
Bowling has already been arrested and released on bond.
