Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 8:19 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, East Hatchery Road, south of McClintic Road, Syracuse. Driver: Charles Siwy, 75, East Koher Road South, Syracuse. Siwy’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting some boulders, a utility pole, and sign. Damage estimated up to $5,000.
- 6:57 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, East Pierceton Road, west of South CR 275E, Winona Lake. Driver: William Baldridge, 70, South Main Street, South Whitley. Baldridge’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage estimated up to $5,000.
- 12:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, North CR 100E, at East CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Susan M. Sellin, 72, Grace Village Drive Unit 128, Winona Lake; and William A. Kelly, 59, North CR 300E, Leesburg. Sellin was traveling north on CR 100E and attempted to make a left turn onto CR 300N. However, she did not notice Kelly’s vehicle traveling south toward her. Sellin complained of facial pain and was taken to Parkview Hospital. Kelly complained of chest pain and was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. Damage estimated up to $50,000.
- 3:34 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 208 S. Old SR 15, Leesburg. Driver: Vieng Phetyasp, 62, Yvonna Street, Leesburg. Phetyasp’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting a mailbox. Damage estimated up to $5,000.
- 11:16 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, West CR 600N, at North CR 500W, Warsaw. Drivers: Mark E. Ader, 66, EMS B1 Lane, Leesburg; and Judy Holbrook, 66, North CR 400W, Leesburg. Ader attempted to make a U-turn at the CR 600N and CR 500W intersection but did not see Holbrook’s vehicle traveling west behind him. After the collision, Holbrook’s vehicle entered a cornfield. Ader complained of shoulder pain and Holbrook complained of chest pain. Both drivers refused treatment at the scene. Damage estimated up to $25,000.
- 8:38 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, North CR 100E, north of East CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: James E. Hall Jr., 55, Willow Lane, Coldwater, Mich.; and John S. Courson, 61, East Pine Drive, Warsaw. Hall attempted to turn left while traveling north but did not see Courson’s vehicle traveling south due to sun glare. Damage estimated up to $5,000.
- 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, West CR 550S, at South County Farm Road, Claypool. Driver: Adriene Early, 41, North Main Street, Claypool. A deer hit the driver’s side of Early’s vehicle. Damage estimated up to $5,000.
- 3:43 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, Northeast Wawasee Drive South, north of East CR 1100N, Syracuse. Drivers: Alan S. Abrams, 67, EMS T47 Lane, Leesburg; and Jaeden M. Bowers, 18, East Northshore Drive, Syracuse. Abrams was backing his vehicle out of a driveway when he hit Bowers’ vehicle. Damage estimated up to $5,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, South Dixie Drive, North Webster. Driver: Leann D. Hubbs, no age listed, South Dixie Drive, North Webster. Hubbs backed her vehicle into a stationary, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
