AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley High School welcomed back the Class of 1975 on Friday, Sept. 26, for a special evening of celebration, reflection and Viking pride. The evening began with a tour of the school, followed by a home football game against Jimtown, where the Vikings secured a decisive 33–0 victory.
This year marks a milestone in Valley history. Fifty years ago, the town high schools of Mentone and Akron consolidated to form Tippecanoe Valley High School. This followed earlier consolidations that united the schools of Beaver Dam, Talma and Burket, creating one united community of learners. Out of these transitions, a new tradition was born — the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings.
The Class of 1975 represents the very beginning of what it means to be a Viking: pride in the communities, strength in coming together and a commitment to excellence that continues to shape Valley’s legacy today.
The Class of ’75 enjoyed reconnecting with classmates and cheering on the Vikings. Their presence added a special touch to the night, reminding everyone of the traditions and bonds that define the Valley community.
“It was an honor to host the Class of 1975,” said Ashlie Schlemmer, director of communication, at Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. “Their stories and spirit remind us of the foundation our school was built on and the values that continue to guide us.”
