Bishop Luers High School will preform “Orphan Train” Oct. 4-5.
News Release
FORT WAYNE — Bishop Luers High School, 333 E Paulding Road, Fort Wayne, is preparing to make history with their fall musical, “Orphan Train.”
One of the first high schools in the United States to perform this musical, Bishop Luers is also the first high school in Indiana to bring it to life on stage. The composers and playwright of the original show are planning on attending the Saturday evening performance.
Experience the story of six orphans who were sent by train to Iowa homes in the 1870s, away from their home city of New York. This musical is based on true events, where a visionary minister sent “surplus children” away from the city to find homes and work in the countryside.
Come experience “Orphan Train” on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5 at Bishop Luers High School. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Tickets are $10 each and available for purchase on the Bishop Luers website.
