Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 12:32 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, East SR 14 and South CR 400E, Silver Lake. Driver: John E. Tarlton, 42, East CR 100S, Pierceton. Tarlton’s vehicles hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 1:12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, Lake City Highway, at East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Kim Goodwin, 73, Oak Forest Trail, Fort Wayne; and Christopher D. Farwell, 55, Rose Quartz Lane, South Bend. Goodwin’s vehicle rear-ended Farwell’s. Damages are estimated under $1,000.
- 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2251 Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: April L. Garner, 69, West Jefferson Street, Winamac. Garner was parking her vehicle when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $2,500.
- 4:53 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, West CR 350N, at SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Gisel Juarez-Medina, 20, North Oakwood Drive, Warsaw; and Lonie A. Bloom, 61, North Cranbrook Road, North Webster. Juarez-Medina’s vehicle rear-ended Bloom’s. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 11:46 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2251 Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Jack A. Sheets, 74, McCormick Drive, Nappanee. Sheets’ vehicle hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 8:22 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, West Winona Avenue, west of South Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Driver: John E. Shock, 45, West CR 25S, Etna Green. Shock’s vehicle hit a deer. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.
- 8:41 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, North SR 15, at Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Evan K. Olinger, 19, South Rowland Avenue, Leesburg; and Stephen L. Miller, 42, Barrington Place, Warsaw. Olinger was traveling north on North SR 15 and noticed traffic was backed up. He told police he was traveling too fast to stop, so he attempted to pass traffic in the left turn lane. However, he swerved into traffic to avoid hitting a concrete median and hit Miller’s vehicle. Olinger complained of head pain and was treated by medics at the scene. Miller and a passenger in his vehicle, Sawyer Miller, 8, Warsaw, complained of back and neck pain. The Millers were also treated at the scene. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 12:27 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, West Center Street, at North Columbia Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Richard A. Latta, 81, South Maple Avenue, Warsaw; and Mario A. Gonzalez, 34, South Union Street, Warsaw. Gonzalez said he stopped at the Center and Columbia Street intersection and was hit by Latta’s vehicle after Latta disregarded a stop sign. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 5:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, Hand Avenue, south of West Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Lynn B. Loucks, 71, SR 19, Elkhart. Loucks was driving a bus while approaching a viaduct when the bus hit the bottom of the bridge for the railroad tracks. This caused significant damage to the bus’s roof. Loucks said he was transporting the Concord Community Schools’ varsity football team to Warsaw Community High School for a football game. No one on the bus was injured. Damages are estimated up to $100,000.
- 5:12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, US 30, east of Silveus Crossing, Warsaw. Drivers: Seth J. Lackey, 17, Westwood Lane, Rochester; and Scott J. House, 53, West California Road, Fort Wayne. Lackey’s vehicle rear-ended House’s. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 4:58 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, SR 15, at interchange US 30 of Ramp D., Warsaw. Drivers: David g. Rodriguez Jr., 20, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw; Kaleb L. Hall, 33, North West Street, Warsaw; Kyla R. Zastrow, 55, Highland Drive, Warsaw; and Mason D. Miller, 18, Daisy Avenue, Goshen. Rodriguez said he was traveling south on SR 15 and that the traffic light near Ramp D had turned yellow. While attempting to travel through the intersection, he noticed Hall’s vehicle turning onto Ramp D to go westbound. Rodriguez’s vehicle hit Hall’s, then bounced off Hall’s vehicle into the front of Zastrow’s vehicle. This then caused Zastrow’s vehicle to be pushed into the front of Miller’s vehicle, which was stopped facing eastbound on US 30 Ramp H. Rodriguez complained of neck pain and had visible bruising from his seatbelt. Hall complained of neck pain and sustained a minor cut to his left knee. Zastrow complained of left knee and left arm pain. A passenger in Zastrow’s vehicle, Todd R. Zastrow, 48, Warsaw, complained of right leg pain. Rodriguez, Hall, and the Zastrows were all treated on-scene by medics. Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
- 2:48 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, East Center Street, at North Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Timothy M. Mauk, 76, West Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Kaysea T. Hook, 26, West Center Street, Warsaw. Mauk said he was traveling west on East Center Street and was approaching the Scott Street intersection at a green light when Hook’s vehicle crossed in front of his. Hook said she was traveling south on Scott Street and had a green light. Two witnesses said Mauk’s traffic light was red. Hook complained of abdominal pain and was treated on-scene by medics. Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
- 2:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, SR 15, at East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dayna L. Bennett, 17, North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw; and Anne M. Kessinger, 53, East Oak Pointe Crossing, Warsaw. Bennet’s vehicle rear-ended Kessinger’s. Damages are estimated up to $10,000.
- 2:23 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, North Lake Street, east of Osborn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Christopher D. Lloyd, 47, 15th Street, Winona Lake; and Joanna Weimer, 25, East CR 300S, Warsaw. Lloyd’s moped rear-ended Weimer’s vehicle. Damages are estimated up to $2,500.
- 2:16 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, SR 15, at South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacob L. Curry, 28, West Howes Street, Denver; and Matthew H. Moore, 46, East Legacy Lane, Winona Lake. Curry was stopped at the SR 15 and Indiana Street intersection, facing north. He said a driver traveling west on SR 15 waved their hand, indicating he could cross the intersection. While crossing, Curry’s vehicle was hit by Moore’s vehicle. Moore was traveling west on SR 15 and complained of left ear pain as a result of airbag deployment. Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
- 7:53 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, East Winona Avenue, at South Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lyndale O. Schmucker, 43, North SR 19, Etna Green; and David Blessing, 41, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Schmucker said he was traveling east on East Winona Avenue and that his light was green when he hit Blessing’s vehicle. Blessing said he was traveling north on South Bronson Street and that his light was green when he proceeded into the Winona Avenue intersection. One witness said Schmucker ran a red light, while a second witness said Schmucker’s light was green. Schmucker was later arrested for allegedly driving while suspended. Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 7:54 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, West CR 200N and North SR 17, Kewanna. Driver: unknown. An unknown driver hit a deer.
