COLUMBIA CITY – The Indiana Department of Transportation recently announced upcoming daily closures on SR 9 for multiple culvert replacements north of Columbia City.

Starting on or after Sept. 29, crews will be working between US 30 and US 33 in multiple locations. Work on the project is expected to be complete by Oct. 9. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

During the closures, drivers should use the official detour of SR 109 and US 33 or seek an alternate route. Crews do plan to reopen the road in the evenings and on weekends when possible.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when traveling in and around all work zones.
