WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested on multiple drug and theft charges.
Richard Daniel Williams, 25, 510 E. Center St., Warsaw, is charged with conspiracy to commit dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; dealing in methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with a prior dealing conviction, both level 5 felonies; theft, a class A misdemeanor; and theft with a prior conviction and possession of methamphetamine, both level 6 felonies.
Sometime in April, the NET 43 Drug Task Force conducted a controlled purchase of 0.39 grams of meth from Williams.
Sometime in June, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office spoke with an individual who said they had arranged to purchase 14 grams of meth from Williams in exchange for $250. Williams asked the person to send $35 to his Cash App, stating he was in South Bend; the informant sent the money as requested.
According to court documents, officers provided the individual with $250 to purchase the meth. Williams entered the individual’s vehicle and said they needed to pick up the meth at another location.
As they were driving, Williams was using meth. Williams then obtained meth from a person and went back to his residence with the informant. While on the way there, Williams was attempting to force the informant to use meth. Williams then exited the vehicle and accused the informant of working for the police. He went into his home with the meth.
The informant waited in their vehicle, but Williams never returned. Williams texted the individual and told them to drive down the street and wait. However, Williams never returned to provide the meth.
Williams was previously convicted of theft and dealing a narcotic drug in Kosciusko County.
Williams was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 2.
