Lawmakers Must Protect Funding For Medicare Advantage
Dear Editor,
Like many seniors, I’m concerned about the rising cost of health care. That’s why I switched to Medicare Advantage earlier this year. It’s been a great decision, both for my health and my wallet. It’s important that policymakers understand just how much Hoosiers like me rely on this program.
Everything is included in one package. I can walk into any doctor’s office and not worry about getting a bill. It’s all covered by my plan. Like nearly all Medicare Advantage plans, dental, vision, hearing and prescription drug benefits are all covered. In fact, some Advantage plans even have free transportation to and from doctors’ appointments if needed. That kind of support really matters when you’re on a fixed income.
Before this, I had to keep track of so many different bills and coverage rules. Now it’s all in one place, and that gives me peace of mind. I feel taken care of, and I know I’m not alone — I have friends and neighbors who feel the same way.
I’m very happy with my Advantage plan and hope my plan remains strong into the future without any changes. If Congress reduces funding, it could take away the things that make this program work so well. Our lawmakers should help protect Medicare Advantage and keep it strong for people like me. We’ve earned it.
