North Webster Library Hosting ‘A Matter Of Balance’ Program

NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Community Library will be hosting the A Matter of Balance program in October and November.
This program is designed to help participants manage the risk of falls and increase their activity levels with practical strategies.

A Matter of Balance classes will be held from 1-3p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, starting Oct. 27.
This program will help teach participants how to:
- View falls as controllable
- Set goals to increase activity
- Make changes in the home environment to reduce fall risks
- Perform exercises to increase strength and balance
Many older adults have concerns about falling, and it can lead to the restriction of activities, limiting their independence. Purdue University Extension in Kosciusko and Elkhart Counties is offering this program, which is ideal for:
- Anyone concerned about falls
- Individuals looking to improve balance, flexibility, and strength
- Those who have fallen in the past
- Those who have restricted activities due to fall concerns
The program is limited to 12 participants, with a $25 registration fee. The deadline to register is Oct. 15. Sessions will begin Oct. 27 and run through Nov. 20. They will be held from 1-3 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at North Webster Community Library.
