Allen County Bells Across America To Celebrate Constitution Signing

A free program will be held in Allen County Public Library’s theater as part of the yearly Bells Across America celebration commemorating the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

FORT WAYNE — Bells Across America is an annual celebration of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. Participants gather to ring bells, much as the church bells of Philadelphia rang out when the U.S. Constitution was first signed at 4 p.m. on September 17, 1787.
Constitution Week is Wednesday, Sept. 17 to Tuesday, Sept. 23. Bells will be rung citywide and there will be a free program Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. in the Allen County Public Library Theater, 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne. The Bells Across America program at the library will include a Bell Choir and be recorded.
All churches, public sites, and schools are encouraged to ring their bells on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. in honor of the signing of the United States Constitution.
