BLUFFTON — Almco Steel Products Corp. has started construction on a $17 million facility in Bluffton that will expand its manufacturing capacity and add jobs in Wells County.
The steel products and precision metal stamping manufacturer said the new facility will allow for additional equipment and support customer demand across industries including automotive, mining and agriculture. The project is expected to create 25 new jobs over the next three years.
Almco Steel currently employs 94 people in Bluffton.
The new building will be the company’s second location in Wells County, reflecting steady growth for the family-owned business. Construction is expected to wrap up in early 2026, with installation of new equipment planned for that June. Bluffton-based Briner Building is leading construction and design.
Founded in 1945, Almco Steel has been a longtime supplier of custom steel stamping and fabrication. Company leaders say the expansion addresses growing demand while keeping operations rooted in the local community.
The project adds to a recent wave of investment in Indiana’s advanced manufacturing sector, which accounts for nearly 37% of the state’s GDP and remains a key driver of job creation.
