North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 11:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, CR 650N. and CR 500E, North Webster. Drivers: Ariana N. Rohr, no age listed, North Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse; and Mark W. Minear, no age listed, East Washington Road, Pierceton. Ariana turned her vehicle in front of Rohr’s as it drove through an intersection, resulting in a collision. Damage up to $50,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:47 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, South SR 15, north of South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Israel E. Sanchez, 29, North CR 175E, Warsaw; and Brayden W. Hochstetdler, 21, SR 23, South Bend. Sanchez’s vehicle rear-ended Hochstetdler’s. Sanchez complained of facial pain and had blood on his left forearm. Sanchez was treated by medics at the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:38 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, US 30, at Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Darlene J. Sparks, 71, East Keith Street, Pierceton; and Austin A. Kryder, 34, Yoder Road, Yoder. Sparks’ vehicle hit Kryder’s after traffic was stopped due to an animal in the roadway. Sparks sustained cuts to her hand and finger but did not seek medical attention. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:41 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, Sheridan Street, at North Lindberg Street, Warsaw. Driver: Trinity R. Marsillett, 21, North Park Avenue, Warsaw. A vehicle owned by Cory Smith, Mentone, was parked and unoccupied when it was rear-ended by Marsillett. Marsillett sustained a cut and bruising to the inside of her left elbow. Marsillett was later arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Damage up to $25,000.
- 5:43 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, North SR 15, at East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nicole D. Higginbotham, 42, East Crescent Drive, Seymour; and Harley M. Amburgey, 29, South Maple Run, Warsaw. Higginbotham turned into Amburgey’s vehicle, resulting in a sideswipe collision. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:09 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, Segal Street, north of Hackleman Street, Warsaw. Driver: Doroteo Hernandez Ruiz, 24, South McClellan Street, Warsaw. Hernandez Ruiz’s vehicle hit a utility pole and fence. He was later arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving without a license. Damage up to $5,000.
- 1:28 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, South West Point Drive, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A vehicle owned by Leticia V. Sanchez, Warsaw, was parked and unoccupied when it sustained damage from an unknown driver. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:16 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, US 30, west of Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert E. Grimm, 58, East Longspur Lane, Warsaw; and Debra Q. Kloc, 54, Walkers Ridge, Warsaw. Grimm was attempting to merge his vehicle into a different travel lane when he hit Kloc’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 8:22 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, Lake Street, at Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Christopher T. Checketts, 34, South Peppergrass Court, Warsaw; and Katia G. Martinez, 30, North Elm Street, Warsaw. Checketts disregarded a red light, hitting Martinez’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 7:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, CR 42 and SR 13, Millersburg. Drivers: Marlene Pratt, 94, Middlebury; and Lindsay Vargo 25, Nappanee. Vargo was southbound on SR 13 when Pratt disregarded the stop sign at the intersection with CR 42, hitting Vargo’s vehicle. Pratt complained of chest and hip pain and was taken to Goshen Hospital. Vargo complained of pain to the left side of her body and released at the scene.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, North SR 25 and East CR 775N, Rochester. Driver: Michael Blanton, 33, Bourbon. Blanton’s vehicle hit a deer.
- 9:43 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, South SR 17 and West CR 650S, Kewanna. Driver: Joseph Seno, 46, Kewanna. Seno’s vehicle hit a deer.
- 8:08 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, South CR 750W and South SR 17, Kewanna. Driver: Doran Collins, 71, Kewanna. Collins’ vehicle hit a deer.
- 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, West SR 114 and South CR 500W, Kewanna. Drivers: Jay Powlen, 70, Kewanna; and Susan Huddleston-Jones, 82, Kewanna. No further information is available.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:54 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, Olive Trail and 12B Road. Driver: Nathan Fritz, 48, Rochester; and Douglas Rodriguez, 29, Warsaw. Fritz was south on Olive trail, approaching 12B Road when he lost control of his 2023 Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with Rodriguez’s 2015 Toyota Corolla, which was traveling north on Olive Trail. Fritz was flown from the scene by Lutheran Air to Memorial Hospital for a leg injury.
