Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 8:31 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, North CR 500W, north of West CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Rebekah Parker, 40, South SR 19, Mentone. Parker’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.

• 12:14 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, North SR 13, north of East CR 300N, Pierceton. Driver: Rhiannon N. Ardisana-Cleveland, 38, Thornhill Drive, Danville, Ill. Ardisana-Cleveland’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.

• 12:23 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, West CR 100S, at South SR 25, Warsaw. Drivers: Avis Gunter, 97, West CR 600S, Claypool; and Logan Greer, 23, EMS C30 Lane, Warsaw. Gunter was pulling out of a driveway and didn’t see Greer’s vehicle, causing a collision. Greer’s vehicle went into a field. A passenger in his vehicle, Elijah N. Pratt, 22, Hudson Street, Elkhart, complained of neck pain. Damage up to $25,000.

• 8:59 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, South Country Club Road, north of Tulip Tree Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Johnny L. Swanson Jr., 83, Lake John Circle, Winona Lake; and Charles L. Baker, 75, North CR 675E, North Webster. Swanson said the sun was in his eyes, and he didn’t see Baker’s vehicle traveling southbound. His vehicle hit Baker’s. Swanson complained of chest pain and was checked out by medics. Baker complained of neck pain and was also checked out by medics. Damage up to $25,000.

• 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, South CR 400W, at West CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Hannah D. Meletiche, 34, South SR 13, Claypool. Meletiche swerved to miss a deer and looked to make sure she missed it. She also said the sun was in her eyes. Her vehicle left the roadway and hit a pole. Damage up to $50,000.

• 2:42 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, East Sunrise Drive, at North Venetian Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Josiah D. Bontrager, 33, Wildwood Drive, Grabill. Bontrager reached down to pick up a spilled drink, and his vehicle hit a pole. Damage up to $25,000.

• 11:13 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, East McKenna Road, at EMS B33 Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Michael E. Williamson, 74, North CR 700E, Warsaw; and Chad Zellers, 40, West CR 525S, Claypool. Williamson said he didn’t realize Zellers’ vehicle was going to turn. He tried to pass Zellers’ vehicle on the right and caused a collision. Damage up to $25,000.

• 9:12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, East CR 750N, at North CR 875E, North Webster. Driver: Trevor Carty, 20, North Harrison Street, Syracuse. Carty swerved to avoid hitting a deer. He overcorrected, and his vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. Damage up to $10,000.
