WARSAW — A steady downpour didn’t keep the crowd away Thursday morning as Do Good BBQ celebrated its official ribbon cutting with free food and community support.
Do Good, located at 325 Argonne Rd., Warsaw, is owned by husband-and-wife duo Jason and Robin Coffman.
The couple first served their barbecue at the Winona Lake Farmer’s Market before expanding into catering and purchasing a brick-and-mortar location.
“It’s been a whirlwind, but running Do Good has been really good so far,” Jason Coffman said as he stood among local business leaders and cut the ribbon with oversized scissors.
Guests filled the parking lot and lined up inside the restaurant to sample the menu, which was free for the event.
As part of the restaurant’s daily mission, every sandwich purchased is matched with a donated meal. Do Good has already contributed to efforts including the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club Triathlon.
The restaurant recently expanded its hours to 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and continues to offer catering seven days a week. Jason Coffman said dinner service could be the next step.
“Next we’d like to try opening up to dinner hours at least once a week,” he said.
The celebration also featured a Street Stock Regional race car adorned with Do Good’s logo, with Mark Marra of Johnny Marra Racing and Jeff Darr of JD Marketing in attendance.
Representatives from the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, Honeywell Foundation, Everwise Credit Union, K County Events, Next Gen Epoxy, Dominic Northwest Bank, American Family Insurance, Leisure Pool & Spa Supply and Rabb Kinetico Water Systems joined the ceremony.
