Lucille M. Weirick

Lucy Weirick
Lucille M. Weirick, 88, of Warsaw, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Lucille M. Weirick was born on Aug. 18, 1937, to her loving parents, Harold and Ora Dirck, in Warsaw.
Growing up in Warsaw, Lucy met her love and best friend, Richard Weirick. They wed on May 25, 1957, in Columbia City. Sharing 65 wonderful years together, they raised two children and made a wonderful home with many memories until his death in 2023. She was honored to be a homemaker and mother.
Lucy enjoyed being outdoors. She always kept her yard immaculate, taking special care of her flower gardens and feeding the birds. She also was a friend to all the “neighborhood cats.” Doing these things brought her much joy and peace. She was especially fond of her shih tzu, “Buster the Dog,” until his passing in 2022. She was a spirited Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan for many years. Christmastime was her favorite holiday and time of year. She enjoyed celebrating with her family and friends and, of course, decorating and sharing traditions with her loved ones. She enjoyed eating out, especially having her favorite “Richard’s chicken.”
Lucy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jackie Whitaker; son, Terry (Deb) Weirick; her grandson, Charlie Weirick; and her sister, Betty Grubbs, all of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; Gene Dirk; Richard Dirk; her daughter-in-law, Angie Weirick; and “Buster the Dog.”
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 28, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2200 Provident Court Warsaw, with services at noon, with Pastor Glenn Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Welfare League, 1048 S. 325E, Pierceton, IN 46562.
