PIERCETON — A Pierceton man was recently arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a woman and her children.
Jason Craig Barclay, 35, Pierceton, is charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony; and false informing, a class B misdemeanor.
On Aug. 15, Pierceton, Winona Lake, and North Webster Police officers responded to a welfare check on a woman in Pierceton. A person reported seeing a man, later identified as Barclay, yelling at the woman.
According to court documents, when officers located Barclay and the woman, Barclay said he didn’t have identification on him and provided multiple spellings of his name.
One officer noticed the outline of a wallet in Barclay’s front pocket and later determined it had his driver’s license inside.
The woman told police she drove Barclay to a gas station to remove him from her Warsaw home because he threatened her and her children. She said Barclay threatened to barricade her and the children inside her home and set it on fire to kill them.
Barclay was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 15. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
