Al Study
Al Study, 83, of rural Warsaw, passed at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, in Warsaw.
Al was born on Feb. 5, 1942, in Akron, to the late Floyd and Hazel (Heir) Study. He was a 1960 graduate of Beaver Dam High School, where he was noted for his basketball skills.
Al owned and operated Sheepskin Express and previously owned Al Study Racing Stable, where he trained his successful standardbred racing stable in the Chicago area for many years. Al also was a former real estate agent in the Warsaw area.
He is survived by Linda and Delbert Mowery and special thanks to niece Kim and her husband, Brian McHose. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and his loving son, Chad Allan Study, in 2020.
The funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 16, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Robert Herman, chaplain for Heartland Hospice, officiating.
The interment will take place following the service in Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, next to his son, Chad.
Visitation hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 16, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
