NAPPANEE — A Nappanee man was arrested in two separate cases for allegedly battering people.
Michael Todd Music, 43, 38 M Dee Acres, Nappanee, is charged with domestic battery with a prior conviction, a level 5 felony; strangulation, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery and battery resulting in bodily injury, both class A misdemeanors.
On May 29, a Nappanee Police officer responded to a residence after an individual requested Music be trespassed from the property.
According to court documents, the officer was told Music hit a woman’s face several times. The officer noticed the woman’s face and eyes were puffy and her left eye was slightly bruised.
The woman said she and Music were arguing when he became aggressive, hitting her multiple times on both sides of her face with his palms. He allegedly pushed her chest, causing her to fall. Music then grabbed her neck with one hand and squeezed.
On July 23, Nappanee Police officers responded to a fight at a residence.
Two witnesses said a man was attempting to comfort a child when Music stepped in front of the man and didn’t allow him to approach the child. Music and the man exchanged words, and Music then used both hands to push the man’s chest. The man and witnesses said Music’s actions caused the man to stumble backward several feet.
Music told police the man stepped on his shoe and spit in his face. He admitted to shoving the man.
Music was previously convicted of battery in Nappanee City Court in May 2020. The man he shoved in July was also the victim in this prior case.
Music has already been arrested and released on bond in both cases.
