Second Annual Color Run Considered A Success

SYRACUSE — Runners of all ages turned out for the second annual Color Run, sponsored by the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce and hosted by South Shore Ventures. The event was held Saturday morning. Aug. 2, at the South Shore campus.
Those running the 5K made three loops along the mile long trail as volunteers made sure to spray them with color each time they passed.
In the men’s division for the 5K were: Jude Rhodes, male overall; Brian Shepherd, male master; Drew Williamson, first place, male 20-29
In the men 30-39 division: Christopher Szynal, first place; Aaron Eash, second place; and Ryan Barttery, third place.
For men 40-49 first place went to Shaun Belin; second place went to John Szynal; and third place Adam Prezbindowski.
For men 70 and over first place went to TJ Curfman .

In the women’s division for the 5K Mallory Szynal was the female overall. Female master was Renu Shah. For females 12 and under: Marin Szynal was first; Naomi Hohbein was second; Laurel Szynal was third and Abagayle Kuta was fourth. Kuta was the youngest runner on the course for the 5K. She will be going into first grade at the start of the school year. In addition to receiving her fourth place prize, she also received a teddy bear.
For the female 13-19 division Allison Giltner was first and Frankie Lutz was second.
In the female 30-39 division Autumn Belin was first, Janelle Roebuck was second and Brenda Bartley was third.
In the female 40-49 division Susan Warstler was first and Jennifer Hohbein was second.
In the 1 mile for men Emerson Raskin came in first, Emilio Callero was second, Max Porter was third, Odin Raskin was fourth; and Stephen Stoffel was fifth.
In the 1 mile for women: Evelyn Bowser was first; Lesley Raskin was second; Stephanie Szynal was third; Elida Calallero was fourth; Darci Lutz was fifth; Liz Porter was sixth; Karissa Bowser was seventh and Ava Weldy was eighth.
