GOSHEN — With this year’s Elkhart County 4-H Fair wrapped up, organizers have already shifted their focus to planning next year’s event.
The nine-day fair, which ended Saturday, July 26, brought in a total of 174,315 attendees, according to fair officials. While turnout remained strong, this year’s numbers were down compared to past years, with weather cited as a key factor in the decline.

Enhancements such as a new basketball court were well-received at this year’s Elkhart 4-H Fair.
Despite the drop in attendance, organizers highlighted several successes from the week, including the opportunity to spotlight 4-H participants and their projects. Enhancements to the fairgrounds also proved popular, including upgrades to the Elkhart County Community Center and new basketball courts. A newly added goat silo was also well received by fairgoers.
Fair management has already begun preparations for the 2026 event, aiming to build on this year’s experiences and maintain the fair’s status as a signature summer tradition in the region.
