WINONA LAKE — A performance by a former Indiana University jazz professor was just one of those people could enjoy Saturday, July 26, in Winona Lake.
The Pat Harbison Quintet was one of three groups performing at The Village at Winona’s Jazz Festival at Rodeheaver Auditorium.
Harbison taught from 1997-2023 at IU. His group closed out the festival.
Prior to Harbison, Margaret Murphy-Webb and her band performed, with the Truth in Jazz Big Band kicking off the festival.
Grace College’s Dr. Wally Brath earlier told InkFreeNews that the festival fits in perfectly in Winona Lake because of the town’s “rich history of offering high quality artistic experiences.”
“I want to continue that tradition by giving voice to jazz, a tradition which originated in the United States,” Brath said of why he continues to help put the festival on.
