Animal Welfare League to Host 3rd Annual ‘Dogust’ Birthday Bash
News Release
PIERCETON — The Animal Welfare League is inviting the community to join in the celebration of its third annual Birthday Bash in honor of “Dogust,” the Universal Birthday for Shelter and Rescue Dogs.
The event will be held noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug 2, at the AWL Shelter Campus, located at 1048 S. 325E., Pierceton, just off U.S.30 across from the TSC store.
“We have an afternoon of family fun to help us celebrate ‘Dogust,’ the Universal Birthday for Shelter and Rescue dogs,” said Niki Sedlacek, AWL adoption technician. “Our kittens and cats help us celebrate too!”
The family-friendly celebration will include birthday cake, ice cream, face painting, a bake sale, local craft vendors, and, of course, plenty of adoptable shelter pets looking for their forever homes.
“Our shelter is currently full, and we need to make room for more animals to come into our care,” added Sedlacek. “Adoption fees will be drastically reduced during the event to help as many pets as possible find loving families.”
Whether you’re looking to adopt or just want to enjoy a day of festivities with your family, the AWL Birthday Bash promises fun, treats, and the chance to make a difference in the life of a shelter animal.
