WARSAW — Main Street Warsaw, in collaboration with Lakeland Art Association and downtown retail shops, announces the first monthly Sip N Shop event, taking place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 25 in Downtown Warsaw.

Designed to celebrate local artistry, culture, and commerce, the Sip N Shop invites visitors to enjoy an evening of complimentary wine and cheese, local art, and live music as they stroll through participating downtown shops and galleries.

Retailers and the Lakeland Art Association gallery will open their doors to offer shoppers a relaxed and engaging experience. As they browse, attendees can check in online at each shop to receive complimentary beverages and be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate.

“The event not only highlights our downtown retail shops and our focus on becoming a cultural and art destination,” said Terry Sweeney, Downtown Development Director for Main Street Warsaw, “but also the unique benefit of Downtown’s DORA district, which allows for walking through downtown with an alcoholic drink in DORA-approved cups.”

Participating Shops

Participating shops will include: Male Fashions, Finely and Co., Brooch Boutique, The Cove-Elysian, Glam Boutique, Buffalo Street Emporium, Nicodemus Games and Cards, Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema

“We are excited to welcome shoppers for this event and hope they enjoy downtown’s charm and ambience as they stroll the sidewalks from shop to shop,” said Tim Hamman, owner of Male Fashions.

The Lakeland Art Association, now located downtown, will feature open gallery hours and street-side art vendors curated by Association President Melodie Koher.

“It’s great being downtown and taking advantage of the foot traffic and working with fellow merchants,” Koher said. “We are excited to offer the opportunity for artists to participate and look forward to increasing participation in future Sip N Shop events.”

Artists featured include Madelene Bussart, Brenda Stichter, Elizabeth Wamsley, and Laura Wildwoods.

Live performances by Ben Essick, Chris Collat, and Luis Osorio will provide an atmospheric soundtrack to the evening.
