FORT WAYNE — Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indiana and Parkview Health today announced a network participation agreement that ensures Parkview remains a provider in Anthem’s care networks.
This agreement secures Parkview’s participation in Anthem’s employer-sponsored, individual, and Medicaid health plan networks through 2029. While discussions continue for Medicare Advantage plans, Parkview will remain part of Anthem’s Medicare Advantage network through Wednesday, Dec. 31.
“We took an important first step four years ago when Parkview and Anthem agreed to improve healthcare affordability for northeastern Indiana consumers — this agreement builds on that progress,” said Beth Keyser. “I’m especially pleased that while we’re continuing to moderate overall cost trends, we’ve meaningfully invested in the physician community to continue attracting top-tier physician talent to northeast Indiana.”
“Our agreement ensures our patients continue to receive the care they need without interruption, which was always our top priority,” said Dr. Jason Row, chief value transformation officer, Parkview Health. “Parkview remains committed to negotiating in good faith with insurers like Anthem to reduce the cost of care for patients. In fact, Anthem will pay Parkview less for hospital care through 2029 than it did in 2020.”
In accordance with confidentiality requirements, the terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
