Pierceton, 4 Other Departments Respond To Jellystone Fire

PIERCETON — Five area fire departments responded to a blaze in Jellystone Park outside Pierceton late Monday afternoon, June 30.
Pierceton Fire Department requested help from Turkey Creek Fire Territory, Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory, Winona Lake Fire Department and Plain Township Fire Department for the fire at Lot 496 of 1916 N. 850E. First responders were called out after 4:15 p.m.
The fire burned the residence as well as a vehicle. Heat from the fire also damaged siding on the trailer at Lot 497.
Pierceton Fire Chief Nathan Rhoades said it took about half an hour to get the fire under control.
He said no one was injured in the fire and firefighters were able to help get some personal belongings out of the home.
Lutheran EMS also responded to the fire.
According to Beacon GIS, the property is owned by Richard K. Huddleston.
