Staff Report

Robert Edward Hurley
WARSAW — A Milford man was arrested after officers responded to a welfare check and discovered drugs.
Robert Edward Hurley, 66, 315 Ulrich Drive, Milford, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; and interfering with a drug or alcohol screening test, a class B misdemeanor.
On June 7, Warsaw Police officers responded to a welfare check at Meijer after Hurley called 911 and said there were two men inside his vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers saw Hurley alone inside his vehicle, nodding his head back and forth. According to court documents, Hurley said his relative and an unknown man had been in the vehicle earlier. Officers noticed Hurley was acting erratically and a K9 unit alerted to illegal drugs inside the vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found an iPhone box containing a pouch of urine. Hurley said he provided a ride to a man in order to obtain clean urine, with the man leaving some of the urine for Hurley.
Officers also found 10.7 grams of meth.
Hurley has already been arrested and released on bond.
