NORTH WEBSTER — Purdue Extension Kosciusko County Health & Human Science Educator Shannon Shepherd is presenting a series of interactive “Block Party” sessions at the North Webster Library, located at 110 E. North St., North Webster.

Join in with everyone for the final session from 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 30.

“Block Party” is designed to engage parents and guardians in meaningful block play activities alongside their children, with the goal of encouraging families to continue block play at home.

Each session features five distinct stations with various types of blocks, allowing children and their caregivers to rotate through activities that support multiple areas of child development.

Block play promotes learning through hands-on interaction and adult support, targeting key developmental domains including math, science, early literacy (pre-reading and language skills), social skills and physical development (both gross and fine motor).

Additionally, the program offers parents practical demonstrations and guided practice to enhance parenting skills and foster early learning at home.

By participating in “Block Party,” adults will gain valuable strategies to support their children’s growth using simple, enjoyable block play. The sessions provide a fun and educational experience for both children and adults alike.
