WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for allegedly battering and strangling a woman who had a no-contact order against him.
Justin R. Ousley, 39, 226 W. 300S, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, strangulation, residential entry, and domestic battery with a prior conviction, all level 6 felonies; and invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 8, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a physical altercation at a Warsaw residence. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a woman, who said Ousley entered the home without permission.
According to court documents, there was an active protective order against Ousley, preventing him from contacting the woman. The order was served to Ousley in October 2024.
Ousley allegedly lifted the woman off the ground by her throat and threw her onto a bed. The deputy noticed red marks around the woman’s neck and that her upper chest appeared irritated.
The woman said Ousley left the home and returned a second time. She asked a child in the home to get a neighbor for help.
A witness said she heard yelling and saw Ousley on top of the woman. She also witnessed Ousley grab the woman’s throat.
Ousley said the woman pushed him, resulting in him pushing the woman down onto the bed. He indicated he was on top of the woman to restrain her because she was arguing with him.
Two other children were also present in the home during the altercation.
Ousley was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 8.
