Man in Marshall County Electrocuted While Working in Bucket Truck

MARSHALL COUNTY — At approximately 10:56 a.m. Thursday, June 12, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call about an unconscious male in a bucket truck who had been electrocuted.
The man, who was not identified by authorities, was electrocuted on Seventh Road west of Union Road in Marshall County while installing a fiber optic cable on a utility pole. Eventually, people on the scene were able to get the bucket lowered and transfer the man to the ground in order to start CPR until first responders arrived.
Once emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they took over life saving efforts. Eventually, the man had a pulse along with shallow breathing. He was then airlifted to a Chicago hospital for continued treatment.
The victim also suffered severe burns on his upper body.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Plymouth Fire and EMS, Samaritan Air Ambulance and NIPSCO.
