Warsaw Artist Wins Prize At Hoosier Art Exhibit

WARSAW — Warsaw artist Steve Creighton has been notified that his painting, “Studio Gathering,” has been presented with the John “Abe” Eyed Memorial Award at the 47th annual Exhibition & Sales at Indiana Heritage Arts Inc. in Nashville, Ind.
The organization stages one of the largest juried art competitions in the Midwest each June for artists from or with a tie to Indiana, awarding a total of $30,000 in prize money. Indiana Heritage Arts presents the annual exhibition of representational Indiana art following the legacy of the artists who founded the Brown County Art Colony in the early 1900s.
Creighton grew up in Atwood and majored in both art and business at Valparaiso University as a undergraduate and continued his art education with graduate art courses at Indiana University. He is a signature member of Oil Painters of America, a signature member of National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society and a signature member of Hoosier Salon. His studio is located in Warsaw.
