KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Two people were arrested after allegedly performing sexual conduct in front of a minor under the age of 14.
Kara Shay Kelley, 30, of 9736 N. Sandpoint Drive No. 11, Cromwell, and Allen Mitchell Lambeth, 30, Ligonier, are both charged with vicarious sexual gratification, a level 3 felony; and performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, a level 6 felony.
Kelley was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:28 p.m. Saturday on a $50,250 preliminary bond.
Lambeth was booked into the KCJ at 10:38 p.m. Saturday on a $50,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Syracuse Police Department detective spoke with someone about a minor allegedly being touched sexually. The person indicated Kelley and Lambeth watched the minor occasionally. The minor told the person approximately three weeks prior, Lambeth had the minor hold his genitals while Kelley performed a sex act on Lambeth.
On Sept. 26, the minor was interviewed at the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, Warsaw. The minor was asked if they felt safe at Kelley’s residence. The minor said yes and then asked if they could tell the interviewer about what Lambeth made them do.
The minor said Lambeth made them hold his genitals while Kelly performed sex acts. The minor told Kelley and Lambeth they were not good babysitters. The minor further said when they woke up, their hand was on Lambeth’s groin and they felt Kelley’s lip on their hand. The minor said the incident happened in a bed at night.
