News Release
CLAYPOOL — A good Samaritan called the Animal Welfare League after seeing two deceased puppies on the side of the road driving down CR 700S in Claypool and a closer look led to a discovery of 14 puppies running out of the ditch.
The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County has all 14 puppies safe and accounted for at their shelter. There are approximately two different litters of six to eight weeks in age.
The puppies are parvo negative and are receiving flea baths, dewormers and food and water.
As far as their breeds, the Animal Welfare League is not sure. The larger puppies are likely shepherd mixes. There could be husky, lab, collie or smaller breeds mixed in based on looks. The smaller puppies are harder to tell as they range in appearance.
The puppies are not up for adoption at this time. If you recognize any of the puppies, contact the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
In the meantime, the league requests canned wet puppy food for the puppies.
