Syracuse Public Library — Flower Arranging Class Hosted By SPL

The Syracuse Public Library is located at 115 E. Main St., Syracuse.

SYRACUSE — Kim Crothers with Pretty Petals Weddings will visit the Syracuse Public Library for a flower arranging class from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in the downstairs meeting room.
Since supplies are limited, the library asks everyone to register for this free class at tinyurl.com/flowerjarclass. Flowers will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring pint mason jars — or similar containers — from home.

Children
Children are invited to storytime, which will meet at 10:30 a.m. every Monday during the summer. Storytime will explore new stories and different arts. During the June 9 session, children will make macaroni art.
Families can bring their best clean jokes to the library from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. Family Fun Night will be all about standup comedy. Join the fun in the downstairs meeting room.
Parents can register their children to learn about balloon art with Ed Leamon from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, in the downstairs meeting room. Register online at https://tinyurl.com/splballoonart or ask a staff member to help with the registration. This program is designed for children aged 6-12.
Finally, children will learn Hokusai woodblock printing with Emilia Layne from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, in the downstairs meeting room. This program is open to all ages.
Teens
Teens can soak up vitamin D, explore new books or enjoy their current books during Read in the Sun from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Monday, June 9, in Community Roots outdoor space. If it rains, this program will move into the Rosalyn Jones Room.
A Jackbox party is planned from 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, in the Rosalyn Jones Room. Teens will play a variety of Jackbox Games while enjoying free snacks.
The young adult writing club will meet from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, for a cozy write-in. Bring your latest writing project to the Rosalyn Jones Room for writing sprints and fresh baked goods.
Adults
Players of all skill levels — including learners — are invited to Syracuse Public Library’s mahjong tables at 10 a.m. on Mondays in the Rosalyn Jones Room and at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays in the downstairs meeting room.
After canceling the In the Garden walk in May, the group will try once again to explore the Edna W. Spurgeon Woodland Reserve, 9478 N 600 W, Ligonier, from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, June 12. Anyone interested in the natural world and native plants is invited to join the walk. Meet on-site and bring insect repellent.
The Roaming Readers, a walking club, will gather at the library’s front doors at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, before embarking on a leisurely walk. Walkers are encouraged to share the books they are currently reading.
All-Ages Chess Club
The chess club meets from 4-5 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the downstairs meeting room. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome at the tables.
