ANSWER: JEFF OWENS
I grew up in Goshen Ind. My younger sister, Jenny, and I were raised by our grandparents, Carl and Frieda Rheinheimer. I attended Riverdale Elementary and Towncrest Junior High schools and graduated from Goshen High School, class of 1977.
When not in school or in detention, you could find me at the neighborhood central parking lot playing with a group of 10 of us. Early self-employment ventures included paper routes and lawn mowing. I enjoyed being in Scouts, and youth activities at City Church of the Brethren, but I valued most of all the freedom that my bicycle provided me and the ability to explore, as long as I was home for dinner.
My first “time clock” job was at the Goshen Theater, as marquee boy, usher, projectionist and assistant manager. Being employed by Vore Cinema led me to Warsaw, where I managed the Warsaw Drive-In and met my future wife, Vicky. After several stops in Northern Indiana, we returned to Warsaw in 1980, as a married couple and haven’t left since.
Married since 1979, we have enjoyed raising three kids in this community: Elizabeth, Erin and Tyler. And have added a son-in-law, Joe, and grandson, Knox, to the family.
I obtained my real estate license in 1979. I have spent 46 years in and around housing and home construction, and was awarded Realtor of The Year in 2007. I am a 35-year member of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, supporting the youth of Kosciusko County. I have donated time to multiple non-profit organizations, currently serving on the Warsaw Planning Commission.
When not involved with one of my thousands of clients, you will find me doing home improvements, tinkering, playing pickleball, traveling AND riding my bike around town exploring.
