Pickleball Clinics For Adults, Youth Offered In Warsaw

WARSAW — The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department has pickleball clinics on tap for both adults and children.
Kids Pickleball Clinics
Free youth pickball clinics with instructor Dave Thieme are aimed for kids ages 8 to 12. Children must be at least 8 years old before the clinic begins.
The clinics will take place at K21 Courts at Bixler Park, 503 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, on the following schedule: 10-11 a.m. Monday, June 16; 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18; and 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 20.
While the program is free, preregistration is required; no day-of signups will be taken. Registration opened May 19 and will continue until June 12, unless filled. Children may attend as many or as few days as they wish, but the sessions are intended to build upon one another.

Adult Pickleball Clinics
During the one-hour clinic, instructor Dave Thieme will teach adults the basics of the fastest growing sport in America. All equipment will be provided. Sessions will be small-group style so that ample time can be given to each student.
The clinics will take place at K21 Courts at Bixler Park, 503 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, on the following schedule:
- Intro to Pickleball — 5:30-6:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 11
- Instruct & Play — 5:30-6:45 p.m. Thursday, June 12
- Better Backhand Shots — 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24
- Drive or Drop — 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26
Participants can pick and choose which sessions to attend, but each class will build upon the prior classes. There is a cost per person, per session. Registration is required and is running from May 19 through June 9, unless filled. Sessions will have a maximum of 10 players.
