Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:54 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, US 30, west of South CR 450E, Warsaw. Driver: Scott R. Atwood, 53, Antebellum Boulevard, Fort Wayne. Atwood’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:21 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, North CR 600W, north of West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Lisa M. Goon, 44, North CR 600W, Warsaw. Goon’s vehicle hit two deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:50 p.m. Monday, May 12, South SR 13, at West CR 850S, Sidney. Driver: Aaron Eaton, 24, North Market Street, North Manchester. Eaton’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 5:43 a.m. Monday, May 12, US 30, west of North CR 250E, Pierceton. Driver: Emma N. Weeks, 42, Rieder Street, Warsaw. Weeks’ vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:55 p.m. Sunday, May 11, East SR 14, east of CR 600E, North Manchester. Driver: Carl D. Simpson, 56, West Hill Street, Wabash. Simpson’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:23 p.m. Saturday, May 10, East US 30, west of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Mohamed Omar, 37, Delta Boulevard, Fort Wayne. Omar’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:59 p.m. Saturday, May 10, West US 30, at North CR 650W, Warsaw. Drivers: Ulises Sanford, 52, Reed Street, Nappanee; and John Dietl, 54, 14B Road, Plymouth. Sanford said he didn’t see Dietl’s vehicle getting ready to turn. Sanford’s vehicle hit Dietl’s. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:37 p.m. Friday, May 9, East CR 500N, at North CR 700E, Leesburg. Drivers: Michael Montgomery, 82, North Stoneburner Road, Warsaw; and John Rubrake, 32, West Keck Road, Columbia City. Montgomery said he didn’t see Rubrake’s vehicle in front of him, and his vehicle hit the back of Rubrake’s. Montgomery’s vehicle went off the roadway into the grass. He was flown with a hand injury and possible internal injuries. Damage up to $10,000.
- 3:17 p.m. Friday, May 9, SR 13, south of US 30, Pierceton. Drivers: Abigail B. Hartman, 23, South Maple Street, Pierceton; and Andrew A. Miller, 47, South CR 600E, North Manchester. Hartman began to get over into the left turn lane ahead of time. Miller’s vehicle came out of a parking lot, and Hartman didn’t see it in time, causing a collision. Damage up to $10,000.
- 8:46 a.m. Friday, May 9, South SR 15, near West CR 1300S, Silver Lake. Driver: Derek Burnett, 34, East CR 1500N, Macy. Burnett’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, East Epworth Forest Road, west of North CR 950E, North Webster. Driver: Jayden L. Berger, 20, North CR 950E, North Webster. Berger had her phone by the steering wheel and wasn’t paying attention to the road. Her vehicle left the roadway and hit a stop sign. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:56 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, North CR 300W, north of West CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Theodore Carter, 63, North CR Dovewood Trail, Warsaw. Carter’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 3:26 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, West CR 300S, east of Poplar Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Carson M. Gould, 18, East Prestwick Road, Winona Lake; and Alexander M. Vallejo, 16, East Dresdin Drive, Warsaw. Gould’s vehicle hit the back of Vallejo’s. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:05 p.m. Monday, May 5, South SR 13, north of West CR 850S, Sidney. Driver: Diane Scheerer, 69, West Heckathorn Drive, North Manchester. Scheerer’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 4:36 a.m. Monday, May 5, East CR 400N, east of EMS B1 Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Kori A. Meade, 47, Miller Street, Laotto. Meade’s vehicle hit a fallen tree in the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:03 p.m. Thursday, May 1, North CR 300W, south of West CR 700N, Leesburg. Driver: Christina R. Elizalde, 20, South Eighth St., Goshen. Elizalde overcorrected her vehicle, and it left the roadway, rolled over and ended up in a field. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, East Center St., and Romper Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Kerry L. Hughes, East Catholic Street, Pierceton; and Andrea M. Hutton, North Saint Clair Court, Warsaw. Hughes attempted to change lanes due to slow traffic, side-swiping Hutton after crossing the center line. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:24 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, East Center Street, and North Hickory Street, Warsaw. Drivers: William M. O’Shea, 42, South CR 600W, Claypool; and Karen K. Dubbeld, 75, East Raintree Road, Warsaw. O’Shea rear-ended Dubbeld after he failed to stop for a red light. Damage up to $10,000.
- 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Amanda M. Patrick, 47, East North Winds Drive, Warsaw. Patrick drove her vehicle into pallets at Milestone AV Technologies LLC, damaging them. Officers found Patrick shortly after outside of her vehicle, intoxicated. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:03 a.m. Monday, May 12, US 30 and East Springhill Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Zachary D. Hill, 21, 4775 CR 45, Auburn; and Sai Kandikattu, 28, North Spring Street, Middletown, Pa. Hill was traveling in his vehicle west on US 30 and braked as he approached the intersection with Springhill Road. Kandikattu attempted to slow down as well but was unable to in time, so he attempted to swerve and avoid the collision. Kandikattu’s vehicle sideswiped the the driver side rear bumper of Hill’s vehicle. Hill’s vehicle sustained scuff damage and damage to the rear driver side bumper. Kandikattu’s vehicle sustained minor scuff damage to the front passenger side bumper. Damage up to $5,000.
- 1:39 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 1000 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Drivers: Deborah K. Vanator, 76, Northcote Avenue, Munster; and Philip S. Johnston, 43, Sally Street, Warsaw. Johnston was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and was rear-ended by Vanator’s vehicle, which was also backing out of a parking space. There was a large indentation on the rear left of Johnston’s vehicle. Vanator left the scene with a male passenger and later spoke to police about the accident. Damage up to $2,500.
- 9:40 p.m. Friday, May 9, Commerce Drive and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Natarajan Nagappan, 39, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw; and Brett A. Young, 46, East CR 900N, North Manchester. Nagappan was driving his vehicle eastbound on US 30 and as he attempted to make a right turn onto Commerce Drive his vehicle struck the front left of Young’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 3:40 p.m. Friday, May 9, SR 25 and South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Liliana S. Vargas, 16, East Main Street, Warsaw; and Benjamin L. Alspaugh, 29, West CR 200S, Warsaw. Vargas was southbound on Indiana Street in her vehicle and attempted to cross SR 25 but failed to see Alspaugh’s vehicle driving eastbound on SR 25. Alspaugh’s vehicle struck Vargas’ vehicle on the passenger side and Vargas’ vehicle sustained heavy damage. Vargas’ passenger John D. Marroquin, 16, sustained a minor cut to his right hand but refused medical attention. Both vehicles were towed due to damages. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:34 a.m. Friday, May 9, East Patterson Road and Heritage Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa K. Swing, 50, Buck Trail, Warsaw; and Keegan M. Lawless, 42, North Orleans Street, Chicago, Ill.; and Deborah A. Nicol, 72, Woodcliff Drive, Warsaw. Swing was traveling westbound in her vehicle on Patterson Road when Lawless braked abruptly in his vehicle. Swing’s vehicle struck Lawless’ vehicle in the rear. Lawless braked his vehicle for Nicol’s vehicle which was making a left hand turn. Lawless’ vehicle struck Nicol’s vehicle in the rear. Swing complained of knee pain and Lawless said he had neck pain, but both declined treatment. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:46 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 1777 West Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jovani Cervantes, 20, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw; and Mikayla A. Suchyna, 25, 18B Road, Tippecanoe. Suchyna was slowly driving her vehicle through the parking lot when Cervantes began backing out of a space and backed into the front passenger side of Suchyna’s vehicle. Cervantes got out of his vehicle, checked the damage on the rear bumper of his vehicle and left the scene. Suchyna’s vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger side fender. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:14 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, East Center Street and Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Patricia J. Combs, 46, Wexford Place, Warsaw; and Augusta A. Garr, 22, EMS R2B Lane, Pierceton. Combs was driving her vehicle down East Center Street and collided with the rear end of Garr’s vehicle as Garr was preparing to turn left onto Eastlake Drive. Combs left the scene but was found and transported to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital for a Driving Under the Influence investigation. Combs’ vehicle was towed due to damages. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, SR 15 and Gilliam Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Truman Messer, 63, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw; and Perry L. Tomei, 60, South CR 200E, Churubusco. Messer was traveling north on SR 15 in his vehicle. Messer was changing lanes when his vehicle collided into Tomei’s vehicle. There was damage to the driver door and minor paint transfer near the driver side rear tire on Messer’s vehicle and Tomei’s vehicle had damage to the front passenger wheel area and paint transfer to the passenger door. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:41 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, SR 15 and East Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Paige D. Schuler, 30, West Old 24, Wabash; and Mallory B. Daughenbaugh, 27, South Jefferson St., Silver Lake. Schuler was traveling north on SR 15 and attempted to make a left turn at East Main Street in her vehicle. Schuler’s vehicle struck Daughenbaugh’s vehicle. Schuler’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Due to an existing medical condition, Daughenbaugh was evaluated by EMS personnel and transported for further medical evaluation. Damage up to $10,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, East SR 114 and East 300S, Akron. Driver: Nicholas Manns, 30, Silver Lake. Hit deer.
- 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 5366 N. SR 25, Rochester. Driver: Rodney Bryant, 70, Macy. Hit deer.
- 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, South CR 350E and East CR 650S. Driver: Robert Painter, 47, Rochester. Painter was driving farm machinery and hit a utility pole. The base of the utility pole was broken and will need replacement.
- 8:21 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, SR 25, north of Fulton. Driver: Alan Bodine, 58, Wolcott. Hit deer.
- 4:34 a.m. Monday, May 12, 1442 W. 18th Street, Rochester. Driver: Eric Green, 48, Kewanna. Hit deer.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 7443 Plymouth-Laporte Trail. Driver: Keith Oden, 51, Plymouth. Oden was traveling southbound on Plymouth-Laporte Trail and left the roadway to the west for unknown reasons. Oden’s vehicle continued through the yard of a residence and struck the northwest corner of the home. The home was occupied at the time, but there were no injuries. Oden’s vehicle suffered heavy front end damage, and the residence suffered structural damages to the outside of the home. Oden was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for an overall complaint of pain.
